Given the extraordinary weather circumstances Ms. Diessner will accept orders until Sunday, Feb 14th. No orders later than that though, since she will have to call our order in to the supplier on Monday. Please spread the word to other band, orchestra and chorus students. Our order so far is very small (~300 boxes) and our profits are going to be less than what we are used to. Email lbcitrus@verizon.net or call 703-455-6956
Want to help pay for your high school student's Spring trip? Here is another opportunity for you to earn money and help out the community by providing them with delicious citrus fruit direct from Florida.
In mid-October the band, chorus, orchestra, and color guard members will be given a packet of information for selling fresh picked Florida navel oranges and pink grapefruit. The sales period lasts for about one month. The fruit will be delivered to the school on Friday, December 4th and Friday, February 19th. The more we sell, the higher the profit margin (the average last year was about $4 a box).
People love fresh, delicious citrus fruit so start thinking about who you can contact about ordering fruit. Neighbors, co-workers, teachers, friends, person who cuts your hair, etc. Many families who sell fruit find that the customers actually call them saying, "When are you selling the fruit?" The money earned goes to the student's accounts to be used to pay for their spring trip. If you have any questions you can contact Sue Diessner at lbcitrus@verizon.net.
